TGTHR App
Application UX design and branding.
TGTHR was born out of the need for women experiencing abusive relationships and Domestic Violence (DV) to have a place of solace as well as resources to survive and escape. On the user’s phone, the TGTHR looks like a benign Tetris game app so the true purpose of the app is hidden from the abusive partner who may monitor the user’s device. TGTHR also has a working Tetric game built into it that the user can immediately get to from any section of the app. This way, the true purpose is concealed and the user is protected from their partner. The app consisted of four sections: Chat, Documentation, Stories and Resources. Chat connects them via phone or message to a social worker, while Documentation allows them to voice record any verbal abuse and photograph any physical abuse to potentially be used in court. Stories has real-life accounts from women who have experienced abusive relationships and how they feel now that they have escaped. The Stories section gives the user a connection to the outside world and shows they there is a life for them after DV. Lastly, Resources has articles and tips regarding types of safety, preparing to leave, and shelters. It also has a Notes area for them to keep their own thoughts. No part of the app links to external sites, ensuring maximum safety for the user.
